THE BUSINESS: An integrated hardware and software technology platform developed by iSeeLoc Inc. can be used for navigation and exact location finding. The company says it has the first product that can navigate in 3D, a must indoors. The first product is a car locator that can be used in all types of parking areas. The company is also working on a child locator, a pet locator and could be used as a product locator. The locator can be either a standalone device or it can be integrated into a key fob or mobile phone.
HOW IT WILL MAKE MONEY: ISeeLoc plans to license its technology to major original equipment manufacturers for use with cell phones and cars as well as for use in certain accessory products. It also plans to sell the car, child and pet locators through partnerships as standalone products.
BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY IT COULD DISRUPT: Location-based services are currently limited by GPS accuracy, to two dimensions and outdoor environments. As well as finding cars in multistory garages, ISeeLoc technology can navigate people to the right shelf in a store to a product being sought.
MANAGEMENT TEAM: Avi Zohar and Sharon Zohar founded the company. Sharon Zohar, the CEO, is based in Silicon Valley. He was previously the founder and CEO at Envision Inc. and Sycon Design Inc. Before that he was the vice president of intellectual property at eSilicon Inc., as well as holding management positions at Intel Corp. and IBM Corp.
